Napa County

Napa County is in the northern part of California, just north of San Pablo Bay. The city of Napa is its county seat. It is one of the original counties in the state, created in 1850. It is one of the four counties considered the North Bay counties. Once a producer of many crops, it is now known mostly for its wine production.

The county is comprised of the cities American Canyon, Calistoga, Napa, St. Helena and Yountville. There are several notable residents hailing from Napa County. They include Robin Williams, Francis Ford Coppola and winemaker Robert Mondavi. There are multiple state highways in a county this large. State routes 12, 29, 121, 128, and 221. The Napa Valley VINE bus service is also available.

Visitors and residents alike enjoy the many types of leisure and entertainment venues made available. Hiking, biking and a variety of trails are popular activities. The Napa Valley Vine Trail connects the entire Napa Valley. It is a grassroots endeavor very popular with locals. Connolly Ranch is a family fun venue offering visitors a chance to experience local farm and wildlife as well as a plethora of flora and fauna. Right in the middle of Napa Valley wine country sits the beautiful Bothe Napa Valley State Park. Opportunities include picnics, swimming, hiking and camping.

The wines are incomparable in the area and there are several wineries available to enjoy tastings, concerts and festivals. Franciscan Estate, Sutter Home Family Vineyards and Duckhorn Vineyards are just a few. Each has its own artifacts of early winemaking and history of their area. Events are often scheduled to unveil new wines and introduce old favorites to the visitors.

Napa County is a popular tourist destination in addition to a heavily populated area. Car accidents happen in areas like this, despite how careful drivers are. Three were injured on HWY 12 just this past August 2015 when a head-on collision occurred. A food truck and an SUV collided head-on, according to the California Highway Patrol. The SUV crossed the yellow lines for reasons unknown causing severe injury to the drive and both the driver and passenger of the food truck. August 17th brought the death or an 86 year old man in a two vehicle crash. Mr. Shirley Benson collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Zinfandel Lane and Silverado Trail.

Negligent and distracted drivers cause many of the accidents in Napa County. That is not to say that is the only reason. Natural disasters and weather can wreak havoc on the roads and the drivers upon them. Flooding, rain, fires and landslides lead to accidents as well as poor road maintenance. Pot holes, road patches and construction can cause death and destruction on the road.

Car accidents cause so much more than just damage to a car or vehicle. They also destroy lives, even those not involved in the accident. The loss of a loved one in a car accident is devastating to survivors, especially if they depended on him for support. Even if death does not occur, injuries can be just as devastating to the whole family. Loss of job and income due to not being able to work can bankrupt a life’s savings.

The first step to getting your life back after a Napa County car accident is to retain the services of a car accident who has built a successful practice in the area. Mosely Collins has decades of experience in the area and is knowledgeable in his field. No one should suffer through an accident without legal help and support.
