Windsor Bicycle Accident Takes Life of Sebastopol Woman, September 12, 2016

At approximately 11:10 a.m. Sunday, a 55-year-old woman from Sebastopol was killed after being struck by a pick-up truck. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was riding on Eastside Road close to Windsor River Road when 73-year-old Courtney Rudin came from the opposite direction. He attempted to pass a car over broken yellow lines and came in contact with the bicyclist and her friend. Investigators are still unsure if the truck hit her or is she swerved to avoid it and received fatal injury. She died on the way to the hospital.
