Wife of Sherriff’s Deputy Arrested for Fatal DUI That Killed a Three-Year-Old, September 12, 2016

The wife of an Alameda County Sherriff’s Deputy, Yaenit Malihan, 39-years-old, was arrested on suspicion of DUI in an accident that killed a 3-year-old boy in San Ramon. Elijah Dunn was a passenger in his mother’s car when it was hit on San Ramon’s I680. They had run out of gas and were parked on the roadside near the Bollinger Canyon Road exit. It was at approximately 6:20 p.m. that Malihan hit the Toyota Camry. Although Elijah and his sister Sunnyvale were properly buckled and the car was parked appropriately, Elijah was hit with the most force and had to be airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
