Uncle Dies in Arden Way Crash, Children Walk for Help -- Nov 27, 2017

Martinez was exiting Capital City Freeway northbound at Arden Way when he lost control of his automobile at approximately 8:50 p.m. His black 2005 Kia Sorento went on straight as the road curved, banging into a tree and killing him upon impact, according to the California Highway Patrol. The nephews of Martinez, a 28-year-old Modesto resident, ages nine and six, exited the wrecked car and walked to the nearby Elephant Bar restaurant to call 911. They were later taken to a local medical center with minor injuries. It is still unknown whether drugs, alcohol or distracted driving were factors in the crash.
