Two People Escape When Car Bursts into Flames After Being Hit With a Tour Bus on 91 Highway in Bellflower, CA, Sunday, January 18, 2015

A tour bus collided with a broken down automobile waiting for help on the 91 Freeway in Bellflower Sunday causing the vehicle to burst into flames. The two individuals in the vehicle, a Nissan Maxima whose electrical system was neglected, crossed over the center divider of the highway to avoid the bus, on a path from Harrah's Casino in San Diego, in accordance with the California Highway Patrol. Five of the 19 passengers of the bus complained of slight injuries but none were sent to some hospital. The crash happened in the HOV lane close to the 605 Freeway at 12:40 a.m., three minutes after the Nissan's occupants reported to the CHP their vehicle was disabled. The Nissan was totally destroyed by fire; the bus was permitted to carry on to LA.
