Two Killed in Sacramento Wrong-Way Crash — Feb 18, 2017

At approximately 7:30 a.m. last Saturday, a Toyota Sienna carrying two men and a commercial box truck collided on southbound Interstate 5 close to Richards Boulevard. The men, 29-year-old Dwyane Zachary and 26-year-old George Cooper, had been running from police after they were pulled over and it was discovered they were in a stolen car. They took off and police chased them into downtown Sacramento where the two men went the wrong way on J Street. Although the police stopped chasing for safety reasons, the men continued for half a mile before hitting the box truck. The truck driver received major injuries and was taken to the hospital.
