Two Die in Martinez Crash — Jan 4, 2017

A man has been identified as 79-year-old Jerry Erben, and his 74-year-old wife, Paula died after a car accident in Martinez on December 30th, 2016. Mr. Erben, a Martinez resident, was driving along Highway 4 in his Chrysler Sedan shortly before 10. a.m. when he missed the 680 connector, veering off the road and hitting a concrete divider. His wife and passenger died later from her injuries in the hospital. Jerry Erben died on January 4th. Investigators and medical professionals are still unclear as to whether he died of injuries from the crash or a medical emergency suffered shortly before.
