Twenty-Four Year Old Killed on Hwy 20 in Clear Lake

Anthony Estrella, 24, was killed in a car accident on Highway 20.  According to California Highway Patrol, he was speeding when he drifted off the road at approximately 1 a.m., near Schindler Street. His 1997 Ford Explorer drifted to the shoulder of the road and crashed into a speed limit sign and then a utility pole. The impact of the collision severed the pole at the base, causing the Explorer to flip, hit a fence and land on its roof. Estrella was trapped in the vehicle and had not been wearing a seatbelt. Paramedics tried to administer help but he died on the scene.
