Turlock DUI Crash Kills One, 18-Year-Old Arrested — Oct 23, 2017

A Hayward teen, Alejandro Valdovinos, was arrested on charges of DUI and vehicular manslaughter Sunday morning after he caused a crash several miles west of Turlock that killed another driver. It was at approximately 7 a.m. when Valdovinos drove along West Main Street eastbound, just west of South Carpenter Road. Witnesses reported his driving at high rates of speed. He smashed into another driver in a 2014 Chevy Cruz in the eastbound lane who was stopped at a stop sign. Both cars burst into flames at the impact. Onlookers pulled Valdovinos and his passenger, 19-year-old Enrique Valdovinos from the Vehicle. Enrique received severe abdominal injuries. Alejandro suffered minor abrasions and contusions to his arms and stomach. The driver of the Chevy was pronounced dead at the scene.
