Truckee Tree Falls on and Kills Driver — Jan 12, 2017

As downed power lines caused traffic to move slowly down Highway 89, between Squaw Valley and Truckee, a tree fell and struck due cars on the road, a Cadillac Escalade and a Subaru. The driver of the Subaru, a woman from Tahoe City, 43-years-old, was killed. Another tree fell as onlookers stopped to help the victims. No one else was hurt.
