Three Teens Involved in Fatal San Mateo County Crash, September 10, 2016

According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, three boys, 17, 18, and 19-years-old, were travelling along Skyline Boulevard at a high rate of speed at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Thursday. The 17-year-old from San Jose, was driving and lost control of the 2001 gray BMW. He crossed all lanes of traffic and sped off the roadway. The car and its occupants rolled down an embankment and hit a tree. It eventually landed on its wheels approximately 40 feet from the road. The front passenger was an 18-year-old from San Martin who died of his injuries on the way to the hospital. The 17-year-old driver and 19-year-old backseat passenger, Blake Carpenter, received moderate injuries. While drugs and alcohol are not thought to be an issue, the accident is still under investigation.
