Three Fatalities in Separate Sacramento County Crashes — May 3, 2017

California Highway Patrol reports three people died Wednesday morning various Sacramento County crashes. There were two crashes in Rio Linda. One involved a motorcycle. A man, 49-years-old, hit a tree and died in the 7300 block of West Sixth Street. He wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle. Another Rio Linda crash that turned fatal involved a motorcycle which was travelling south on 24th Street, just north of Q Street, at a high rate of speed. He tried to navigate through a pedestrian gate on the west road edge. He hit the gate post and gate and was ejected from his motorcycle where he died at the scene. The driver was a Somerset man, 37-year-old Dana Franklin. Sinda Dumas, 28, of Marysville, died when she was ejected from the Dodge Challenger she was riding in on Madison Avenue when it swerved off road and hit a pole. Another car had swerved in front of the Challenger causing the driver to swerve and go off road.
