It was approximately 3:35 p.m. on Sunday, a 2012 Mazda on State Route 46 eastbound drifted into oncoming traffic and hit a semi-truck head-on. A Toyota following behind the Mazda crashed into them. The semi had a load of 8,000 gallons of hot oil. The trailer became detached in the wreck and rolled down an embankment. It stopped around 65 feet from the road on its side. The driver was a 71-year-old Seaside woman, Michelle E. Saunders. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
