Teenager, 17, Dead After Auto Accident On Highway 49 South Of Grass Valley, Saturday, February 7, 2015

According to the California Highway Patrol, the teenager was driving southbound in a Subaru station wagon.

Another person driving a Lincoln then broadsided her heading north on the highway.

The teenager - who hasn't yet been identified as of this time - was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP says. The girl was the sole occupant in her automobile.

CHP says the passengers of the Lincoln include an adult female as well as her daughter. They suffered moderate injuries and have been taken to a local hospital.

The roadway was dry at the time of the crash, based on CHP.
