Teen Killed in Alameda County Crash — Dec 9, 2016

Sixteen-year-old Gabriel Loreto Garate was killed on his way to school last week. He was a sophomore student at Westmont High School. The accident occurred on San Tomas Expressway at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. The driver of the car Garate rode in was uninjured, other than a scratch on the forehead. He reported switching to the far left lane when he felt the vehicle jerk and vibrate. He lost control and the car struck a wooden and metal guardrail that punctured the passenger side door, hitting the young man and killing him.
