Sonora Crash Kills Couple From Turlock -- Nov 27, 2017

Two Turlock residents were killed in a rollover crash east of Knights Ferry, according to Sonora California Highway Patrol officers. The crash happened approximately 11:13 p.m. on Highway 120 west of Rushing Hill Lookout Road. It was in an area also known as "the rock shop," the California Highway Patrol reported. A 59-year-old woman driving a 2002 Ford Mustang eastbound at a speed unsafe for the wet road surface, according to the CHP. She lost control of her car and ran off the edge of the roadway into the center median. The Mustang began to roll. It continued rolling until it struck an extension of rocks and a tree. The car came to rest on its roof. The driver and her 55-year-old male passenger both suffered fatal injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt, although her passenger was, according to California Highway Patrol. The names of the man and woman have been withheld pending notification of family.
