Semi-Truck Accident Snarls HWY 99 Traffic for Miles -- Nov 28, 2017

Parts of Highway 99 south in Merced closed Tuesday morning after a traffic accident involving a semi-truck, authorities said. Caltrans issued an alert recommending all drivers on the road to circumvent the area of Highway 99 at 16th Street. The road was closed temporarily for repairs after the accident. It was reported at 8:26 a.m. that morning according to the California Highway Patrol. As of 9:38 a.m., traffic was backed-up to Atwater. Early reports specify a car and a semi-truck crashed, and the car was stuck under the rig. It is not yet clear if there were an injury.
