Selma Crash Kills One — Sep 12, 2017

A male Hanford resident was killed in a car crash outside Selma city limits on September 11. Javier Galvan, 58, was walking east on Mountain View Avenue west of Van Horn at approximately 9 p.m. when a 2008 Volvo semi-truck struck him. The driver, Javier Sierra, 37, of Riverdale, was unable to see him on the road in his dark clothing. Galvan died on the side of the road. Sierra left the scene of the accident. His employer told him to return and he was arrested for hit and run.
