Redwood City Solo Crash on Highway 101 Injures Two Officers — Oct 5, 2017

A traffic stop that turned into an altercation caused two police officers to respond in aid to a colleague in Redwood City. Their patrol car sped out of control and smashed into the center lane divider. They had been traveling south on 101 at approximately 3:00 a.m. when the driver lost control of the patrol car near Whipple Avenue. He then slammed into the median. Emergency crews had to extricate both officers. They were transported to area hospitals for treatment of minor abrasions.
