Redwood City Caltrans Crashes Into Car, Kills Driver — Sep 5, 2017

A 29-year-old driver from Redwood City was killed early this morning when he crashed through a fence and stopped on the railroad tracks where he was hit by a Caltrain. The driver’s name has not yet been released. At approximately 1:21 a.m. on Buckingham Avenue, a blue VW sedan ran through a fence and landed on the driver’s side of the railroad tracks. An out of service Caltrain travelling to San Francisco crashed into it. The train dragged the car half a mile before stopping. The train track was back to use at full speed by 5:50 a.m. but trains were experiencing 10 minute delays.
