One Killed One Injured in Rural Antioch Crash — Apr 17, 2017

A tractor trailer hit a car and killed the 21-year-old driver from Antioch. The passenger was injured. The accident occurred on a rural intersection in Sutter County. It was just after 12:30 p.m. when Louis Barela, going east on Sankey Road in Pleasant Grove in his Chevy Impala stopped at the intersection before proceeding. 63-year-old Manuel Aguirre of Rio Linda in a 22 wheel Peterbilt truck hit the side of the Impalla and flipped it over. Barela was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Leeann Aitcheson, 22-years-old, received major injuries and was transported to the hospital. They were both wearing seatbelts.
