Oakland Crash Kills One — Nov 27, 2016

A car crash on Highway 880 in Oakland killed one person early Sunday, according to police. Reports first began to come in at approximately 2:30 a.m. about collisions in the southbound lanes. Many reported standing water in the roadway as the cause of the accidents. A red 2004 Hyundai had pulled over to the southbound shoulder. Only a few minutes later, it was hit by a 2009 Range Rover that had lost control and spun off road. The force of the hit threw the driver onto a parking area below. He died on the scene. The Hyundai driver was outside of his car when it was struck. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
