Merced County Crash Takes Life of Modesto Man- August 29, 2016

According to the California Highway Patrol, a crash east of Oakdale Court on Oakdale Road in Merced County killed a man from Modesto, Zachary Andrews, at about 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, August 28th. His car, a 1991 Honda was in a canal when officers arrived. It had major damage. Investigators have concluded Andrews had been headed east on Oakdale when he lost control of the vehicle. He went off-road, hit a tree and flew into the ravine. The investigation continues as authorities are unsure how the accident occurred and if drugs and/or alcohol played a part.
