Marin County Crash Kills One — Oct 9, 2017

Just before 6:00 a.m., reports came in about a man crashed his Chevy Malibu sedan into a parked semi-truck in Marin County. The accident occurred near the San Quentin prison on east Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The truck was hauling a massive piece of equipment. It was parked on the shoulder of the road as the driver slept in the sleeper cabin in an area often populated by other sleeping drivers. The driver of the Malibu went into the right curve and then drifted onto the shoulder where the truck was parked. He hit the flatbed trailer of the semi-truck and was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the truck slept through the entire incident and woke only when a witness knocked on the door of the truck.
