Major Scotts Valley Crash Kills Arizona Nursing Student — June 12, 2017

27-year-old Hannah Marie Milkowski of Arizona died when the car she was riding in was involved in a major accident in Scotts Valley. The crash occurred on June 4 when California Highway Patrol said Kristopher Benson of Scotts Valley was driving himself and Milkowski on Bean Creek Road and hit a pole. Benson got back on the road and attempted to get help for his passenger who had been injured in the crash. He drove down Highway 17, then Highway 1 and then came to a stop at the Soquel Avenue off ramp where authorities arrested him for DUI. His passenger was taken to an area hospital where she later died of her injuries.
