Magalia Teen and Oroville Man Killed in Car Crash — Nov 14, 2016

A single car crash killed a man from Oroville, 50-year-old James Peer, and a teenager, 17-year-old Charles Lorona, from Magalia on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. near Quincy. Peer, driving a 2006 Nissan Titan eastbound on Highway 70 close to Barlow Road when his car crossed into oncoming traffic and then jetted off the road. He then hit a tree, demolishing the vehicle. There were two other passengers in the car, an 18-year-old man and a 15-year old girl. Both suffered major injuries. The road conditions were foggy, but CHP revealed a large amount of marijuana at the scene as well as some amount of alcohol.
