Interstate 580 Accident Kills 22-Year-Old — August 5, 2017

An accident on Saturday morning on Interstate 580 just east of Livermore has taken the life of a 22-year-old man. Edgar Omar Valdez Parra, of Walnut Creek, has been identified as the victim of the accident that occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. east of the North Flynn Road onramp in Alameda County. When officers arrived on the scene they found Parra’s four-door sedan had flipped. Parra was dead upon their arrival. Investigators are still trying to determine the circumstances of the accident but no other car is thought to have been involved. Eastbound 580 traffic was backed up for several hours afterward.
