Highway 37 at Schellville the Scene of Deadly Multi-Vehicle Crash

Eric Alexander, a 43 year old truck driver was killed as a result of injuries from his Wednesday, November 18, 2015 accident. Two tanker trucks were involved in the accident on Highway 37. Alexander was driving a 2012 Freightliner and towing vinegar. He was eastbound at approximately 50 mph when he came upon sitting traffic but failed to slow or stop. Traffic slowing to a stop in that area of Highway 37 near Lakeway Highway is not unusual. The road funnels gradually to two lanes and stoppages often occur. Reaching the traffic, Alexander rear-ended 2011 Mack truck big-rig. It was carrying empty liquid container trailers. A chain reaction began at that point. It travelled up through three more vehicles. Meanwhile the cab detached from the chassis on Alexanders truck. The cab with him in it was thrown into the right side of the shoulder where he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Mack truck driver was 56 year old Jagtar Singh. He was not injured and was able to exit his vehicle.
