Horrifying Santa Cruz Crash Kills Three — Mar 1, 2017

Only one person has been identified from the Santa Cruz accident that killed three people north of Wilder Creek, south of Dimeo Lane on Highway 1 Tuesday. The accident happened shortly after 4 a.m. according to police reports. A 2000 Buick Regal traveling south on Highway 1 at a high rate of speed when the driver overcorrected and lost control. It was broadsided by a Chevy Blazer. Luis Martinez-Escobar, 20-years-old of Santa Cruz, died at the scene. The driver, 20-years-old, was pronounced dead later at a hospital. He has not yet been identified. The driver of the Chevy was a 56-year-old woman from Oregon. She also died later at a hospital. Both lanes of the highway had to be closed for several hours.
