Hit and Run on I-80 Injures CHP Officer

A CHP officer was airlifted to a hospital from I-80 close to Elkhorn Blvd. All westbound lanes were closed after the motorcycle officer was hit by a Ford truck on Thursday April 7, 2016. He then led police on a chase through Sacramento from Citrus Heights to Fairfield. He was stopped by a spike strip and taken to jail after a 50-mile chase.

No further information has been released as investigators are still on the scene. The condition of the motorcycle officer is as of yet unknown.
