Head-on Crash Kills Lake County Man — Mar 8, 2017

A man from Cobb was killed, his passenger critically injured, when they were struck head-on by a pick-up truck Tuesday on Highway 29 in Lake County. They were traveling along Highway 29 north near Lakeport at approximately 1 p.m. in a 2011 Subaru when 30-year-old Daniel Long of Ukiah, in a 2013 Ford truck lost control and hit the couple after crossing lanes. The man killed has yet to be identified. His passenger, 63-year-old Lela Prather, also of Cobb, was taken to the hospital for treatment. Long also had a passenger, a 3-year-old girl. Neither were hurt in the accident.
