Head-on Crash in Chico Kills Two — Nov 3, 2016

A four-car crash killed two people on Highway 99, just north of Chico. The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. close to Meridian Road. The driver of a white Saturn sedan driving northbound on Highway 99 crossed the yellow lines and hit a black Acura along its side. It returned to its lane only to cross back over the yellow lines a few minutes later. It then hit a Chevy Sonic head-on which was traveling southbound. The Sonic spun out of control and hit a Subaru SUV. The driver of the Saturn was a 32-year-old Eureka man. The driver of the Sonic was a 55-year-old Chico man. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
