Fiery Albany Crash Seriously Burns Truck Driver — Sep 1, 2017

Firefighters say a California truck driver suffered serious burns from a fiery car crash in Albany on I5. Crews responded with emergency services to milepost marker 233 at 12:12 a.m. Friday, September 1st. The driver of a 2016 Freightliner pulling a trailer traveling northbound on I5 drifted off the roadway for unknown reasons. He struck a guardrail and a large pillar of the Highway 20 Overpass. A passing driver stopped and pulled the truck driver, Terence Jay Shaw, 51, of Riverside, from the burning truck. He was burned over 30% of his body. The road was closed until the fire was extinguished and for several hours afterward.
