East Sacramento Racing Incident Kills Two -- Nov 19, 2017

A street racing incident early Sunday morning has killed two people. The crash occurred at around 2 a.m. when a Honda Accord was racing another car westbound on Highway 50 close to Mather Field Road. The driver veered into the other lane and was hit on the right side by a Hyundai Santa Fe. The passenger was killed immediately. The Honda driver was ejected and died when he was struck by a BMW. Only one occupant has been identified, 23-year-old Juan Mario Garza. According to the evidence on the scene, drugs and or alcohol may have played a part in the accident.  The driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe was an Elk Grove woman. She suffered minor injuries. The driver of the BMW, an unidentified person from Manteca, was not injured.
