DUI Driver Arrested After Drive on SMART Tracks — Sep 11, 2017

The SMART train tracks were stopped temporarily Saturday when a Santa Rosa woman veered off road and onto the tracks just north of the Rohnert Park Expressway. The driver, 23-year-old Tyra Ingalls, claims a car swerved in front of her and caused her to skid off the road. Her car came to a stop 70-feet down the SMART tracks, lodged parallel with the rails. Officials were on the scene as the accident occurred and were able to promptly shut down the lines and call a tow truck out to pull the car from the tracks.  Train passengers were never at risk. Investigators were able to determine Ingalls had a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit at .263 and was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested at the scene. She has a $10,000 bail.
