DUI Crash in Livermore Sparks Fire — Sep 1, 2017

A driver thought to be under the influence of alcohol received serious injury when he went off the road on I 580 in Livermore Friday morning. Once off road, he flipped and started a brush fire. Officers found the car at 1:25 a.m. 200 feet down a hill at North Flynn Road on Highway 580 eastbound. It had flipped over and started a fire along the hillside. Officers arrived to find the driver unconscious in his car surrounded by flames. He had to be cut from his seat belt to receive medical aid. The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment before being transferred to the jail under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
