Drunk Driver Cause of Fatal Sacramento Accident, September 8, 2016

Twenty-eight-year-old Jesus Moreno, a Stockton native, rear-ended a vehicle while driving under the influence on State Route 12 east near Brannan Island Road, according to California Highway Patrol. It was at approximately 7:40 p.m. Moreno’s passenger was a 52-year-old man who was not properly restrained. He hit the windshield upon impact with the car in front of them and died instantly. California Highway Patrol reported Moreno then attempted to flee the scene but drove off road and was apprehended. He is being charged with DUI, vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run.
