Crash on I880 in Oakland Kills Two Women — Oct 1, 2017

The California Highway Patrol is still investigating an accident that killed two women early Saturday. The crash occurred when a car went down the wrong side of the wrong side of the road. It crashed into another car at approximately 4:18 a.m. on northbound I880 near the Broadway off-ramp. As a result, it was closed for several hours. The drivers in both cars died. Identities have not been released. Authorities have not revealed if the wrong-way driver was under the influence. The wrong-way driver was not speeding. Traffic remained affected most of the day.
