Crash Near Sacramento Airport Kills One, Injures One — Dec 21, 2016

What started as a minor crash turned into a fatal accident on 12.21.16 when a passing vehicle hit a driver who had exited a car on I5 near the Sacramento airport. It happened after three cars were involved in a crash on I5 southbound near 6:30 a.m. It was near Highway 99. Two of the vehicles involved managed to drive to the shoulder of the road. The third was stuck in the center median. Twenty-two-year-old Talia Roberts, the driver, got out of the car and was immediately hit by a passing vehicle. She died on the scene. Another person was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. The accident caused one southbound lane of I5 to be closed for several hours.
