Crash into Santa Rosa Building Kills Driver — July 14, 2017

A man, Marco Antonio Rodriguez Meza, 25, of Ukiah, was killed after driving his 2015 Toyota Tacoma into a downtown Santa Rosa building. He crashed his car into the Savory Spice Shop’s north wall near Humboldt and Fifth streets. It was approximately 2:00 a.m. Meza had been spotted only moments before the crash speeding along College Avenue, just east of Mendocino Avenue. He made a right turn at 45 mph onto southbound Humboldt. The posted speed limit is 25 mph. Police attempted to pursue him but were unable to catch up with him before he crashed. Meza was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:24 a.m.
