Crash in Oroville in Highway 70 Kills Two — August 8, 2017

A crash on Highway 70 near Oroville killed two drivers. Reports state the wreck occurred at 5:45 a.m. The driver of a 2001 Ford Taurus traveling at excessive speed northbound south of Ophir Road attempted to pass a car. He struck a 2006 Chevy HHR traveling southbound head-on. The Ford burst into flames. Both drivers died at the scene. The road is only one lane in each direction. Only one driver has been identified. The driver of the Chevy was a Paradise resident, Paul Inman. Neither car had passengers. The driver of the Ford was speeding, making an unsafe pass, and was driving without his headlights. It is as yet unclear if drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident.
