Chico Man Dies, 4 Juveniles Injured in Car accident- August 4, 2016

A pick-up truck crash killed 81-year-old Chico resident, Clark Adams on Wednesday August 3rd. Adams was driving south in a 2015 Chevy Traverse on Heganridge Road. He was headed toward he intersection at Keefer Road when Todd Kinney, 44-years-old, came from another direction in his Ford F150 truck at the same time. Kinney, also of Chico, was travelling at approximately 40 mph.

Adams drove directly into the F150’s path which hit the Traverse in the driver’s side. He died immediately while his passengers sustained moderate injuries. The F150 driver and its passengers were also injured slightly. Four juveniles aged nine to 16 were involved but authorities have yet to clear up which vehicle they were in.  The accident is still under investigation. Drugs nor alcohol were reportedly expected to be a contributing factor.
