Chico DUI Hit and Run Driver Arrested — Dec 7, 2016

Chico police responded to a fatal hit and run on Nord Avenue at approximately 1:30 a.m. near the Oakwood Apartments entrance. They immediately began searching for the driver who hit and killed a woman walking along the roadway. It was around 2 a.m. when Bryan Dawson called the Chico police to report that he had been in an accident. When officers arrived they suspected he was the hit and run driver. The damage on his car matched the hit and run reports. Officers gave him a field sobriety test that he failed. Dawson was then placed under arrested. He was charged with vehicular homicide, felony drinking and driving and felony hit and run.
