Ceres DUI Driver Crashed Into Parked Patrol Car -- Dec 4, 2017

A man is under arrest for DUI after he crashed into a parked sheriff patrol car late last Sunday night. The incident occurred along River Road, near Central Avenue. Stanislaus County authorities report police responded to a call in the area at approximately 11:30 p.m. As they were walking back to their car, a man crashed a Hummer head-on into the parked patrol car. The accident pushed the patrol car back several feet. Police say the driver tried to leave the scene, but was soon arrested. No police were hurt in the accident. The driver’s identity has not yet been released. California Highway Patrol’s Modesto division is aiding in the investigation.
