Cause of Death Remains a Mystery in Lodi Collision — Apr 2, 2017

The driver of a vehicle called the police at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday and reported to have struck a man who was lying on the road. The accident took place at Lower Sacramento Road just north of Lodi Avenue and the 49-year-old did not survive.

Police reported that the cause of death remains under investigation and questions if other cars may have been involved. Although it is known the driver hit the victim, it appears the man was already lying on the road. The driver who reported the accident said he was driving behind another car when it swerved, before it happened. He was unable to stop in time.

The identities of both the driver and victim had not been disclosed at the time of this report. It is also unknown if alcohol or drugs played a part.
