Big Rig Catches Fire on I 580 — Oct 3, 2017

Early Wednesday morning on the Dublin grade, a big rig carrying cardboard caught fire. Lanes were closed for almost two hours following the fire. The front of the semi was fully engulphed when fire rescue arrived to the eastbound I 580 site which occurred approximately one mile east of Eden Canyon Road exit. The truck had pulled over by 5:35 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol. A Sig Alert was issued at 6:07 until 7:15 a.m. Traffic remained slow after lanes reopened.
