Atwater Crash Injures Two, DUI Suspected — Oct 13, 2017

Just outside Atwater, on Friday afternoon, Cynthia and Douglas Black were thrown from their car in what authorities believe to be a DUI crash. Officers arrived on the scene of Applegate Road and Moran Road at approximately 3:42 p.m. Both occupants of the car, neither of which were wearing seat belts, had been ejected from the blue Toyota Scion and were laying on the ground. They were transported to an area hospital with major injuries. Empty beer cases and cans were found in the car and alcohol is believed to have played a part in the accident. Applegate Road was shut down temporarily.
