Auto Accident NewsAccident Near Meadow Vista, CA Injures Biker

A motorcycle rider was injured Monday in a crash with a truck on Placer Hills Road in Meadow Vista.

Injured in the crash was motorcycle rider Scott Trauman, 24, of Colfax.

According to a California Highway Patrol report, Trauman was seen riding a 2008 Honda 1000 motorcycle on Placer Hills Road shortly before the crash at a high rate of speed. The crash took place at about 9 a.m.

The bike was southbound on Placer Hills Road, near Irish Mountain Road, when it collided with a pickup that was pulling out onto the road, the Highway Patrol reported. The motorcycle collided with the front side of the truck, which was driven by Daniel Allen, 49, of Meadow Vista.

Trauman was taken by air ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center with major injuries, Highway Patrol Officer David Martinez said.
