Alpine County Crash Kills Elderly Man — July 25, 2017

David Martin, 62, of Woodacre, was killed in a single car crash Sunday on State Route 88. He had been travelling westbound in a 2001 BMW west of Carson River Bridge when his car drifted off road for unknown reasons. When he attempted to correct with a sharp wheel turn, he lost control, went off-road, hit an embankment and flipped over. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are still awaiting a toxicology report.
