9-Year-Old Killed After Being Thrown From Car in I5 Crash — Sep 5, 2017

A fatal crash on Monday killed a 9-year-old child at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Monday when Victor Flores, 31, of Concord, drove is Toyota Scion into the northbound lanes. He then went onto the shoulder of the road and rolled down an embankment. The child flew from the car as it tumbled down the embankment and was pronounced dead on the scene. A passenger, Maria Sanchez, 30, of Concord, and Flores had only minor injuries. Drugs and alcohol are not thought to be an issue in the accident.
